Most of us have taken a workshop or gotten some coaching that inspired us to put what we learned into practice.
Oops…fast-forward a week: Did you immediately slip back into your old ways? I know I have. And I’ve led many training programs where people acknowledge that’s a real problem.
Recently I had an insight that was so obvious it hurt:
"You can't practice what you can't remember."
That motivated me to pay close attention to helping my clients remember–and therefore practice–what they've learned. One way is to offer written materials that complement other forms of learning. The intent:
- To provide more in-depth information on topics of interest
- To be able to share impactful learning with others
- To use as practice aids
