Coaching: A High Leverage Strategy for Enhanced Results

Individual and team coaching for personal and professional growth

Description:

We provide leadership and executive coaching within organizational settings and we also work with individuals. Whatever the context or role, we use a "whole life," systems approach.

Challenge:

There is no single challenge that prompts people to seek coaching.  Here are some examples:

As an individual:

  • You've recently taken on a new and challenging assignment and want assistance laying out a strategy going forward.
  • You're in the second half of your career: You want to plan for leaving a legacy in the organization and have a fulfilling life after retirement.
  • You keep encountering persistent blind spots or an inability to fully meet important goals.

As a team:

  • You have taken on a big new challenge and you need to pull together to work productively toward a common goal.
  • Circumstances in the external environment have changed and "what got you here won't get you there."
  • There are interpersonal issues interfering with your ability to work together.

Client Comments:

"This has been one of the most rewarding experiences of 360 feedback and coaching that I've had in my career. You have set a benchmark and I only wish that I'd met you earlier in my career."

"If you are interested in working hard to improve yourself, then Deborah Reidy should be your choice.  Coach Reidy is as committed to my success as I am.  She is supportive in her style and brings a wealth of experience and useful tools to the engagement.  But like all good coaches, Deborah challenged me do the hard work and to be as good as I can be."

"Deborah Reidy is an excellent coach and listener. She brings great ideas forward. I like that she provides feedback and challenges me to look inward at myself and truly understand why certain issues concern me."

Methods:

Coaching starts by focusing on the client's aspirations, reflecting on their current situation, and then establishing goals to bring the two into greater alignment. Ongoing coaching involves finding arenas to practice and then learning from what worked and what didn't. Along the way, tools and models that support the client to move in the direction of their aspirations are offered. Coaching involves face to face or phone meetings lasting from 30 to 90 minutes per meeting. The duration of a coaching relationship varies considerably, from one meeting to years. We combine coaching with the use of various assessments such as the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, the FIRO-B, and 360 assessments.

Result:

  • Greater sense of purpose and clarity about priorities
  • Greater sense of well-being
  • Greater self confidence and self awareness
  • Greater ability to make choices that work toward meeting goals
  • Greater efficiency, effectiveness, and time management
  • Improved ability to communicate
